Trip to the Grand Canyon
I absolutely love Arizona. It is one of my go to vacation getaways for sun, relaxation and gorgeous scenery. My usual destination in Arizona is Scottsdale. However, this time the Grand Canyon was my goal. I have always wanted to visit the Grand Canyon, it is on my bucket list. Even though this was my third visit to Arizona, I was not going back to Ohio without checking this one off of my bucket list.
On an early Friday morning in December, I hit the road for a four-hour trek from Scottsdale to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. Within a few hours, the beautiful mountains went from being covered with gorgeous evergreens to fresh fallen snow. We arrived to a surprisingly large crowd of visitors from near and far. Despite the government shutdown, the Grand Canyon was open! We began our journey by taking the Desert View. The views were spectacular, to say the least. Pictures do not do it justice. At first sight, the Grand Canyon took my breath away; it was that beautiful and mesmerizing. We stopped at every viewpoint and each stop was a completely different view and experience of this natural phenomenon. This was and always will be one of my most memorable trips to Arizona.
