Throwing it Back to two weeks ago when I had the pleasure of attending EATS and BEATS Pop Up Restaurant by @rake_now & @rickonia at @hianddrycle.
No cell phones allowed...just good old conversation, interaction, great food and drinks & FUN! If you've ever been to a R.A.K.E. event, you know that fun is inevitable!
The menu was inspired by Outkast's Stankonia album...classic! Upon arrival, attendees put their cell phones away, chose DJ names (I was DJ Zesty), ordered cocktails and conversed with other attendees. The first course was a So Fresh & So Clean green salad and Wingonias. The chosen wordplay for the menu was right on point. The wings had a blueberry-lemon glaze. I must say, I was a little skeptical about this selection at first, but they were absolutely amazing!! Shortly after the first course, we took a soup break...AKA Jameson Shots! The second course consisted of a Scampi Junction that was simply delicious. The final course was dessert. A Humble Mumble Apple Pie, which was a combination of apples, ginger, and Jameson Irish Whiskey, topped off with an ice cream & caramel drizzle.
All of this great food, positive energy and vibes and fun was in the name of charity. Each ticket bought went towards the purchase of the same meal, to be distributed to the homeless. Anytime that I can eat/drink & have fun for a great cause...I'm there! R.A.K.E. (Random Acts of Kindness Everywhere) is an awesome movement that we support any chance we get!
